Structural Steel Shop Superintendent
Structural Steel Shop Superintendent manages daily manufacturing and fabrication operations. They oversee a team of fitters, welders, and machine operators, coordinate material flow and production schedules, and enforce strict quality control and safety standards to ensure steel components are built correctly before shipping to job sites.

- Production Management: Plan and assign daily shop tasks based on project deadlines, drawing requirements, and crew skill levels.
- Quality Control: Inspect fabricated steel assemblies, dimensions, and weld integrity to match engineering drawings and standards like AISC.
- Team Leadership: Train, supervise, and mentor shop workers, welders, and apprentices.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce shop safety rules, proper use of PPE, and a clean work environment.
- Cross-Department Communication: Coordinate with project managers, detailers, and shipping teams to resolve material shortages or bottlenecks.
- Experience: 5+ years working in structural steel fabrication or a manufacturing supervisory role.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, shop drawings, and welding procedures.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of steel properties, welding techniques, and OSHA safety regulations.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage people, resolve conflicts, and keep production on schedule.
