Steel Piping- Operations Manager

Steel Piping Operations Manager oversees daily manufacturing, fabrication, coating, and workflow efficiency for steel pipe production lines while managing safety and staff performance. 
Key Responsibilities

• Production & Operations: Lead daily plant operations across steel pipe manufacturing, tubular processing, or ID/OD (inner/outer diameter) coating lines.
• Quality & Safety: Enforce OSHA compliance, safety protocols for heavy machinery (cranes, forklifts), and QA/QC or API inspection standards.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor KPIs like equipment uptime, scrap reduction, throughput yield, and labor utilization.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with maintenance, quality control, engineering, and logistics teams to prevent bottlenecks and ensure on-time customer delivery.
• Workforce Leadership: Hire, train, mentor, and supervise production supervisors, machine operators, and skilled tradespeople. 

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 5 to 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in heavy industrial manufacturing, steel processing, tube mills, or pipe fabrication.
• Education: High school diploma required; a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability, reading technical blueprints/shop drawings, and familiarity with ERP/WMS systems or Lean manufacturing/5S.
• Certifications: OSHA, crane/rigging safety, or Six Sigma/Lean certifications are a strong plus.
